THE HISTORY OF WILDCATS
Based in Mornington, Victoria, Wildcats is a proudly family-run gymnastics club with a passion for inspiring young athletes. While we officially opened our doors in Melbourne in 2013, our roots run much deeper.
Our story began with senior coach Jenny Minster and her husband Charles, whose love for gymnastics grew as their daughter Beverley competed at an elite level. From South Africa, Jenny and Charles relocated to England where they refined their coaching skills; learning from the best in the business and established a strong and successful gymnastics program
They later moved to Hobart in 1997, taking over a small club (Sorell Gymnastics) which they transformed into a thriving program known as Wildcats until 2012. The club quickly became a respected name in Tasmania, producing polished athletes who competed nationally.
In 2013, Jenny and Beverley teamed up and brought Wildcats to Melbourne, starting with humble beginnings in a small factory in Mornington. As the club grew, so did our community. In 2015, we moved to our current, larger facility on Carbine Way to better serve our expanding programs—from KinderGym to Educational Gymnastics, Competitive Streams and Trampolining and Tumbling. Today, Wildcats is known for its supportive culture, quality coaching, and commitment to developing confident, capable gymnasts.
